This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform advanced diagnostic tasks in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.
This qualification provides a pathway to work as an Automotive Master Technician performing technical, diagnostic and repair tasks in the automotive service and repair industry.
Entry requirements
Individuals entering this qualification must have completed an automotive mechanical Certificate III level qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.
All students must be 18 years of age or over and international students must have a minimum IELTS band 5.5 or equivalent. This course is offered to both international and domestic students.
Career Pathways
On successful completion of this qualification, students may progress to AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or other automotive Diploma level qualifications.

Duration
The course is delivered over 52 weeks including 18 week compulsory work placement and 6 weeks of term break.

TUITION FEES
$14,500 Tuition fees include work clothing, an automotive based tool kit and text books.
Delivery Mode and Assessment
The course is delivered face-to-face, in a classroom based training model of 20 hours per week. Assessments are conducted using a combination of written assignments, oral questioning, case studies, projects, work placement logbook and observations in the workplace or simulated work environment.
Work Placement
Participants are required to undertake 360 hours of supervised work placement, which provides an excellent opportunity to improve practical job skills and gain valuable industry exposure.
This course will also be conducted inside a working mechanical workshop to provide students with additional industry exposure and experience in a real workplace setting.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / National Recognition
Recognition is available to students with prior skills, experience, knowledge or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training, in a related area. Recognition may reduce the duration of this course.
